We Are Living in a Multi-Tenant Multi-Cloud World

#CollabTalk TweetJam for October 2021 on Staying Productive in a Multi-Tenant, Multi-Cloud WorldLong gone are the days when a company selected a single provider for their enterprise applications, selecting that vendor for their one market-leading solution…and making due with their other offerings, which were often 2nd or 3rd tier solutions. Instead, organizations select the best-of-breed offerings. To add another wrinkle, most organizations also maintain multiple versions and tenants — to meet the differing needs of geographically-dispersed teams and business units and/or to support development, staging, and production system requirements.

We live in a multi-tenant, multi-cloud world. And while it may make sense on paper, their are real-world implications to our increasingly complex environments — impacting employee productivity, as well as enterprise security and compliance.

In the next #CollabTalk TweetJam taking place on Wednesday, October 20th at 9am Pacific (UTC -7), the community will once again join forces and have a focused discussion on the topic of “Staying Productive in a Multi-Tenant, Multi-Cloud World.” In this 1-hour Twitter-based panel discussion, we’ll bring together MVPs and Regional Directors, community experts, partners, consultants, and practitioners to share their perspectives and real-world examples on working across multiple tenants and multiple cloud environments — and what is working, and not working.

Anyone can join this community discussion using Twitter and the #CollabTalk hashtag or your favorite Twitter platform. You don’t even need to be an “expert” to participate in the online conversation. Anyone can ask questions, comment on the questions posed, or just “lurk” in the background. These online discussions are open to anyone — you do not have to be on the panel to participate.

As always, this month’s tweetjam is being sponsored by tyGraph and AvePoint. Thanks for your support!

If you have never participated in one of these tweetjams, it’s pretty simple: anyone can jump in and share their thoughts, or just lurk in the wings and absorb the wisdom of the crowd. Either way, it’ll be a TON of content to consume in a single hour. You can follow the live session using the Twitter UI of your choice (Twitter.com, Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, whatever). How it works is that I’ll post a series of questions every few minutes, and people will respond to Q1, Q2, Q3 and so forth with A1, A2, A3, always including the #CollabTalk hashtag with their answers. Feel free to reply as often (or as little) as you’d like, ask your own follow up questions, share relevant links, re-tweet others, and engage with the audience.

The questions we will discuss during the session include:

  1. What are the primary productivity issues end-users (and you personally) experience when working across multiple tenants and/or multiple cloud environments?
  2. What are your biggest successes (what works well) when working across multiple tenants and/or multiple cloud environments?
  3. How does the rapid rate of innovation (updates, changes, etc.) impact personal/organizational productivity on multi-tenant and multi-cloud environments?
  4. What are the greatest governance concerns for multi-tenant and multi-cloud environments?
  5. How important are interoperability and data portability to current and/or future multi-tenant and multi-cloud plans?
  6. Has the IT Pro role changed to meet the needs of multi-tenant and multi-cloud environments, and if so, in what ways?
  7. What 3 things can/should organizations do to optimize their multi-tenant and multi-cloud environments?

As always, there will be side-questions, side-conversations, and wise-cracking throughout. This is open to the public, so please join in the discussion! The dialog is always thought-provoking and fun.
