How do I import MS Forms data into other analysis tools? #M365AMA

In this episode, the #M365AMA panel discusses the following community question:

“In my role as a marketing analyst, I’ve been using Microsoft Forms to gather customer feedback. The challenge I’m facing is in efficiently analyzing the data collected. I need to create detailed reports and extract meaningful insights from the responses. What are the best methods or tools for importing data from Microsoft Forms into other analysis tools, like Excel or Power BI? Also, are there any advanced features within Forms or associated Microsoft services that can aid in data analysis and reporting?”

Some relevant notes/links shared by the team:

  • Heather recommends creating a group form to have more than one owner for management. You can add Forms app tabs in team channels for editing, etc. A QR code, embed code, or short URL can be generated for sharing wherever needed to collect responses. Power Automate can then be used to add responses to a cloud Excel workbook. Then more robust analysis can be done in the Excel desktop app or you can connect your Excel workbook as a source to Power BI to create dashboard and report visualizations.
