May 2023 Content Wrap-Up

Yet another jam-packed month, which began with my 3rd of 3 weeks on the road participating in the expo hall at the Microsoft 365 Conference in Las Vegas, as well as MSP and Channel events down the Vegas strip. That’s right — 3 conferences in 1 week. My feet are still healing. It was great to see many friends and partners in back-to-back-to-back events, and I’m still going through event follow-ups a month later. It was also fantastic to hang out with fellow Rencore team members in-person, including Michael Borell, Ragnar Heil, Pia Hönscheid, and Anka Imhoff. Looking forward to hanging out more in July as I make my way to Munich for Rencore’s 10-year anniversary celebration.

Following the M365 Conference, Ragnar and I hosted a post-conference webinar where we shared all of our takeaways from the many Microsoft announcements made before and during the event. I also participated in a Microsoft User Group Utah (MUGUT) panel sharing our takeaways from the May announcements, and doing some speculation about what comes next.

Also in May, I continued to participate in the RD Startup Advisory Board, where I am helping to shape the future of the RD Mentor Program, as well as the success criteria around the Microsoft for Startups program. As a Microsoft Regional Director, one of my favorite things is to work with startups at various stages to build out their marketing and partner strategies, and to figure out how to navigate the Microsoft ecosystem.

Rounding out the month with a #CollabTalk TweetJam on SharePoint, many partner discussions, and many interviews and AMA discussions, it was a very busy month. No travels planned for June (as of yet) but things heat up again in July and August.

Music

A busy month for music appreciation. In addition to the blog posts below, I was also able to attend a Love & Rockets concert here in Utah. L&R haven’t played together (officially) in more than a decade. The last time I saw these 3 gents on stage together was the Bauhaus Reunion Tour in 1998 when I caught both San Francisco shows at the Warfield. Amazing performance near the start of their North American tour currently underway, ending with the fan-favorite Ball of Confusion.
