July 2021 Content Wrap-Up

AvePoint goes public on NASDAQWhat a month. As you probably saw, AvePoint went public on July 2nd via IPM (initial public merger). We are now listed on the NASDAQ under AVPT. I am excited to be a part of this team and have a front-row seat to all of it, and while it would have been fun to fly out to NYC to join the team in-person, as a new member of the team I was just happy to sit back and watch remotely and let the members of the team who have been here for years enjoy this event.

Another big event in July was the launch of the AvePoint Partner Program on July 13th, which is exceeding our goals and expectations. The response has been tremendous, and I’m excited to participate in growing out this aspect of our business. More on that in the coming weeks. Of course, the launch event was the day before the start of this year’s Microsoft Inspire partner conference. For the second year in a row, the event was virtual. I’ll be honest — it’s just not the same. It’s not an event that translates to online. The content is almost irrelevant: it’s all about the face-to-face meetings, whether with Microsoft product and business teams, or with fellow partners. That P2P connection is next to impossible to recreate online. I can’t wait to get back to in-person Inspire events. This would have been my 11th year in a row of attending this important event.

Late in the month, I took a friday off to take a roadtrip with my middle son Nicholas. We drove up to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We had a blast, and we’re already making plans to go back and scale a few peaks.

And finally, July is also the season for MVP renewals, and for me this marked 10 years of receiving this award (well, technically 10.5 years). I am thankful to Microsoft for this award and grateful to this wonderful community for letting me participate. I’m excited to see what the next 10 years will bring!

As for content, here is this month’s summary:

Productivity Tips

On my backlog for quite some time has been to create ebooks out of the (literally) hundreds of productivity tips that Tom Duff (@duffbert) and I have been sharing for the past 3-4 years. I handed off a collection of Microsoft Teams tips to my design team, and they produced the following blog post with downloadable ebook. Forthcoming will be ebooks on Outlook/Exchange, OneNote, SharePoint, and more.

MVP Interviews

I really love doing these interviews and getting to know a little bit about MVPs around the world. If you have not watched the videos, be sure to check them out and subscribe to my YouTube page.

#O365hours and #M365AMA

While I am no longer hosting weekly Office Hours sessions with a panel of my MVP friends, we’re still having fun with the newly-branded #M365AMA . Additionally, the 30-minute #O365hours interview series over on the AvePoint YouTube page is also a lot of fun as we expand on some of the important topics for our community. Be sure to subscribe to this series to get the reminders for our shows, which happen on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. And watch for blog post summaries from my content team over on the AvePoint blog.

And that’s a wrap for July content! Looking forward to August with the North American Collab Summit in Branson, Missouri, followed by a team offsite in Arlington, Virginia. It’s going to be a busy month.
