Ramping Up for a Week of TweetJams at #MSIgnite

It’s Sunday, the MVP pre-day here at Microsoft Ignite in Orlando, Florida is coming to a rapid close, and people are preparing for an intense week of product announcements, tweetjams, content, and networking. For those of you joining me here for the week, please say hello if you pass me in a hall or sit down next to me in a session. Would love to get to know the 4 people who read this blog 🙂

Y U NO join CollabTalk tweetjams? For those not attending Ignite but wanting to stay plugged in, there are a number of ways to participate from afar. You can, of course, watch the keynotes on Monday as they happen live (go to Microsoft.com/Ignite), find the session recordings (if recorded) within 24 hours on Channel9, and interact with speakers and attendees through the Microsoft Tech Community. Of course, you can also find about everything and anything exciting at Ignite from the Community Reporters, which I am proudly a member of for the week.

But are you also planning to participate in one of the CollabTalk tweetjams happening this week? Each day of the week, Ignite social channels will be “taken over” by executives and product teams from 4 areas of the company. In alignment with these themes, we are running daily  tweetjams on data, cloud, Office, and Windows — with a wrap-up topic on Friday that will be a great way to end the event and let anyone and everyone share their takeaways.

If you’re interested in participating in these tweetjams, there is no registration — just join the discussion between 12:30pm and 1:30pm Eastern each day using your favorite Twitter tool (Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, etc) and the #CollabTalk hashtag, and either follow along as others share comments and questions, or join in the discussion. We also have a dedicated tweetjam site at http://twubs.com/CollabTalk that allows you to pause the Twitter stream, which can be really useful if you’re following a particular thread and things are flying by too quickly.

Here are the topics and links to the supporting blog posts with more details on the questions to be asked, and current panelists who will be participating in these live events:

Monday — Data Takeover — The Future of Intelligent Search and Discovery

Tuesday — Cloud Takeover — How Secure is the Microsoft Cloud?

Wednesday — Office Takeover — Transforming Productivity with Office and Office 365

Thursday — Windows Takeover — Modernizing to Windows as a Service

Friday — Event Wrap-Up — Takeaways from Ignite 2017

These tweetjams are an excellent way to identify experts and community members and discuss specific topics, to validate ideas and ask questions, and to share your personal experiences. We don’t typically run multiple tweetjams in a week, or even in a month — this is a special occasion, and we’ll also be live streaming a handful of participants from Ignite in Orlando over in the Community Hub in OCCC West. If you’re attending Ignite, come join us — but this is really an online event, so anyone can jump into the discussion from the comfort of their sofa….or work.

And if you are an expert and would like to be included on one (or more) of these panels, please reach out to me via DM on Twitter @buckleyplanet, or drop me an email at cbuck @ collabtalk dot com.

See you online!
